WORLD ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS - 3 Africans qualify for the STEEPLECHASE event

Three Africans including Kenyan Milcah Chemos Cheywa qualify for the Women's Steepchase heats. Milcah is African record holder at the distance and won bronze medals at both the 2009 and 2011 World Championships in Athletics.

Read more about other events here. Earlier today saw British Nigerian Andre Osagie qualifying in third place in the Men's 800m. The race was won by America’s Duane Solomon in  with Abdulaziz Ladan Mohammed coming second. Here is the line up of today's coming events:

4.40pm Men's Decathlon - 400m
5.15pm Men's 100m - Heats wit Usain Bolt and James Dasaolu 6.05pm Opening Ceremony
