BRITAIN, the US and France say their forces are ready for military strike in Syria.
Sources from within the UK government have confirmed the military was drawing up plans
for action in response to a suspected chemical weapons attack on the citizens of Syria. The country's PM has recalled parliament to prepare for war.

In the US, defence secretary Chuck Haggel said its military was ready to strike immediately if President Obama gave the order. Meanwhile the French president Francois Hollande said his country was ready to attack those who took the heinous decision to gas innocents.

On Monday, Russia and China both allies of the Assad regime said action outside the council would be a 'crude violation of international law.' A Russian Ilushin-76 jet carrying aid landed in Syria to take it’s citizens out of the country.

But Italy is insisting that any strike against Syria must first be authorized by the UN Security Council.

Syria last night vowed to retaliate against any military intervention from the west warning: "We will surprise everyone and we will defend ourselves using all means available" Foreign minister Walid al-Moallem denied his government was behind the alleged chemical weapons attack last week.
