Black Officer sues the British Police Force for discrimination

LONDON, UK - She was the Olympics poster girl, the advert the London Met was proud of but underneath all the publicity lay allegations of racism and discrimination.

Looking super cool in the front cover photograph, Carol Howard, 34, looks like the woman every nice man would like to know - looking assured , confident and pretty, Ms Howard has been in the force for the past 10 years does not look like what you may think a female officer would look like.

The experienced firearms officer with the Diplomatic Protection is suing for alleged racial discrimination. Carol Howard claims her career has been held back at Scotland Yard because a senior male DPG officer has denied her equal opportunities because of her race and gender. The black officer who helped to guard London from terror attacks during the Olympics and protect senior politicians, government buildings and foreign embassies. The hearing at the Central London Employment Tribunal would be held next month, also involves bullying allegations.

A few days ago, Baroness Lawrence, the mother of Stephen Lawrence, the teenager who was killed in south London because of his colour also said that the Met is still institutionally racist.
