Barak Obama - The Challenges Ahead

Second term in office: President Obama
After a long and gruelling campaign,  President Barak Obama has won the US elections by a whisker. This comes as good news to Democrats and not so good news for Mitt Romney. Across America, statistics show that more Latinos voted for Obama than ever. This comes as good news to the Obama camp but projects a split view of America - whites on one side and African Americans, Latinos and other ethnic minorities on the other...a divided country. Mor women and youths also voted for Democrats.

Challenges Ahead

The most important task for President Barak Obama will be to bring all groups together and  most especially the Republicans (who have clout in American power circles) in order to make the story of America a success. Politics in America should not be a white and black affair.

Many people around the world including in African believed that Obama won by chance but with his re-election shows that the president has substance and is an obvious choice but he now needs to work out a strategy to pull everyone together.

President Obama will need to focus on:

  • A workable plan
  • Pushing forward policies that will pass the Republican camp
  • Uniting the senate
  • Taxes
  • Unemployment
  • Health insurance reforms
  • Technology
  • Immigration
  • Housing
  • Ethical food production
  • Peace in the world
Finally, president Obama needs to eat some good food and take a long relaxing sleep! He looks like he needs it.

Congratulations President Obama and Vice-president Biden, from iSHINE Magazine
