Yes, the royal family has welcomed a new addition into their expanding family! A baby girl born to Prince William and Princess Kate at the St. Mary's hospital in London. And, a sister for little Prince George who was born in 2013 at the same hospital. Congratulations to the happy parents!
Here is how the birth drama unfolded:
At about 6am on Saturday Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge went into labour. She left her home at Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace, probably already in labour with William, 32 and was admitted to the Lindo Wing of Saint Mary's Hospital in London.
The Duke of Cambridge was present as the royal princess was delivered just three hours later, at 8.34am, weighing 8lbs 3oz. An official statement was released at 11 a.m by the royal town crier. Fans and the world's media gathered outside the hospital to spread the news.
Just about the same time, two footmen placed official declaration of the birth on an easel outside Buckingham Palace as is the tradition.
Soon after, Prince Williams dashed back home to grab his son, the adorable Prince George to go and see his new sister. They arrived shortly afterwards wearing matching blue sweaters and Prince William made the 21 month old toddler wave at the well-wishers and royal fans who had camped out overnight. He was taken back home after the short visit.
The Duke and Duchess then brought out their new baby to show to the whole world, The couple then, headed home with their daughter to join their son who was in the care of his nanny, Maria Borrallo.
When Kate and William presented their son, Prince William on the same steps after his birth on July 22, 2013, it was somehow different. They were new parents, Prince William looked nervous as he cradled George in his arms, before admitting he had practiced fitting the baby seat into his Range Rover at home before the birth.
This time around both parents looked relaxed and Princess Kate even confidently held the baby with one arm!
