Chiquita Hill of Columbus, Georgia, said Sasha Smith, her son Sean’s fifth-grade teacher at St. Mary’s Magnet Academy, told her he was “rude and disrespectful, not listening, talking back, not doing his school work”.
The mother explained that the teacher even came to her house “in her personal time” to speak with Sean. However, it was all to no avail, as Smith’s words went “in one ear and out the other”. (Scroll down for the video.)
1. Chiquita Hill of Columbus, Georgia, had her 10-year-old son “arrested” by police for misbehaving and being disrespectful to his teacher.
That’s when Hill decided to call the police and ask them for help. Hill told WLTZ:
When they showed up, it hit him. They came in, they arrested him, put handcuffs on him, and they took him to the car… one cop got into the car and flashed the lights to give him a good scare.
The officers and the boy’s mother had agreed that Sean would be handcuffed and put in the back of a police car for about five minutes.
A police officer got into the car, flashed the lights and even drove up a bit, Hill explained. She said:
Everything happened so fast. He didn’t have time to react to anything… He was scared.

[Sean] gave me the biggest hug and said, “I’ll never do it again.” I don’t know what they said to him.
The mother said that after the police left, she sat down with her son and they talked about what happened. She explained:
And I told him his behavior and his actions affect those around him.
I’m glad I did this. He will be 11 this month. He’s hitting that pre-teen age…
I understand that he will be going through changes…
But with all the things going on in Missouri and in Baltimore, I want to stop anything from happening while he’s young and impressionable.

We totally understand that they were trying to do a good thing. But in hindsight, we’re not in the business of pretending to arrest somebody.
Hill posted pictures of Sean being “arrested” on Facebook, where she uses the name Jada Powell, and they quickly went viral. She said:
What I say to people that say I’m emotionally hurting my child or giving him a fear of law enforcement: He respects law and knows they’re there to help people, but he also knows they’re also there to show him the consequences of his action.
If I didn’t feel comfortable, I would have called them off at any time. I wanted to get him while he’s still young and impressionable. Stop it now before it could get worse.
