Manchester United Owner Malcolm Glazer Dies

The owner of Manchester United football club, Malcolm Glazer, has died, aged 85.

  1. Maya Angelou the famous American author and poet has passed away. She published seven autobiographies, three books of essays, and several books of poetry, and is credited with a list of plays, movies, and television shows spanning more than fifty years. She was born April 4, 1928.

Award-winning author, renowned poet and civil rights activist Dr. Maya Angelou has died. She was 86. Winston-Salem Mayor Allen Joines confirmed Angelou was found by her caretaker on Wednesday morning. Angelou’s publicist, Helen Brann, also confirmed the news.
Angelou had been reportedly battling health problems. She recently canceled a scheduled appearance of a special event to be held in her honor.
Angelou was set to be honored with the “Beacon of Life Award” at the 2014 MLB Beacon Award Luncheon on May 30 in Houston.

Angelou, one of the most renowned and influential voices of our time, is a celebrated poet, novelist, educator, producer, actress, filmmaker and civil rights activist.
A professor, singer and dancer, among other things, Angelou’s work spans several different professions. She spent her early years studying dance and drama in California.
After dropping out at age 14, she became the San Francisco’s first African-American female cable car conductor.
Angelou later returned to high school to finish her diploma and gave birth to her son a few weeks after graduation. While the 17-year-old single mother waited tables to support her son, she acquired a passion for music and dance.
Affectionately referred to as Dr. Angelou, the professor never went to college. She has received over 50 honorary degrees and was Reynolds Professor of American Studies at Wake Forest University.
Angelou is famous for saying, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Angelou was also named one of the 10 most admired North Carolinians in a recent Elon Poll.
Angelou was born on April 4, 1928, in St. Louis, Missouri. She grew up between St. Louis and the then-racially-segregated Stamps, Arkansas.
The famous poet got into writing after a childhood tragedy that stunned her into silence for almost a decade. When she was 7, her mother’s boyfriend raped her. He was later beaten to death by a mob after she testified against him.
“My 7-and-a-half-year-old logic deduced that my voice had killed him, so I stopped speaking for almost six years,” she said.
From the silence, a louder voice was born.
Her list of friends is as impressive as her illustrious career. Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey referred to her as “sister friend.” She counted Martin Luther King Jr., with whom she worked during the Civil Rights movement, among her friends. King was assassinated on her birthday.
Angelou spoke at least six languages, and worked as a newspaper editor in Egypt and Ghana. During that time, she wrote “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings,” launching the first in a series of autobiographical books.
“I want to write so well that a person is 30 or 40 pages in a book of mine … before she realizes she’s reading,” she said.
Angelou was also one of the first black women film directors. Her work on Broadway has been nominated for Tony Awards.
Before making it big, the 6-foot-tall wordsmith also worked as a cook and sang with a traveling road show. “Look where we’ve all come from … coming out of darkness, moving toward the light,” she has said. “It is a long journey, but a sweet one, bittersweet.”

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are officially a married couple

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are officially a married couple, after saying their vows in a lavish ceremony in Florence, Italy. The news of the wedding was confirmed by E!

The wedding is thought to have cost millions of dollars, and was held on a hilltop over Florence at the 16th Century Forte di Belvedere. The rental of the fortress is said to cost over $400,000 (£237,000) in rent for one day according to Splash News. The ceremony was attended by hundreds of family members, friends and well wishers.

How to get rich without too much sweat for people who are struggling financially

I often hear people say, 'Why am I poor? Why are Africans poor, even though they live in the midst of abundance? A couple of years ago, I ran a Money Workshop program at the start of the recession and I was amazed at how educated people dealt with money/investments. Many people do not have a clue about how money is made and multiplied... I thought about all these things carefully and this is what I say:

1. Improve yourself with education/training/apprenticeship/practise
2. Everyday learn something new especially as you get older
3. Have a big dream, a purpose, MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESSES or find a meaningful career you love and work hard
4. Stay focused
5. Move in the right circles, be friendly but firm and network non-stop
6. Be encouraged - get over disappointments quickly and move on
7. Be persistent - never, ever give up on your dreams
8. Aim high, set goals, be determined, be bold
9. Up grade your communication skills - take writing/public speaking lessons
10. Help as many people as possible - the more people you help the better - solve their problems
11. LOVE others, support them and have FUN
12. Be patient - it takes time for good things to blossom
13. Share your knowledge - don't be selfish and keep everything to yourself
14. Look the part - presentation matters - look your best at all times
15. Be better than the last time - correct mistakes
16. Invest and re-invest - Always save a fifth of your income for investments
16. Be excellent at whatever you do, BE THE BEST and your economic status will gradually change."

People are doing all they can to cash in on the ‘Bring Back Our Girls’ campaign. But excuse me, is the campaign about money? Is it about fame? Is it about getting your photo go viral on Twitter? Not quite. The Bring Back Our Girls campaign is about lives. The lives of children who are breathing, who are in danger, who have needs and wants, who have parents, families and people who love them. It is not about money. For some people, all they go after is money. They do not even have any human feeling in them as long as they get money it is all well and good.


Now, Irina Shayk , the Russian model girlfriend of Real Madrid footballer Cristiano Ronaldo was slammed b friends and family for posing semi-naked for Bring Back Our Girls campaign. She posted the images to support the bid to save kidnapped Nigerian girls and the pictures show her with just '#bring back our girls' sign covering her body.

How to look 20 years younger in 6 easy steps

Step One
Drink lots of water. If you drink up to 8 cups of water a day, your body will work more efficiently. Toxins in your blood stream will be flushed out, your digestion will be better and your system will be more efficient. People who drink lots of water each day report that their skin is more radiant and less prone to spots.



Step Two

Eat more than five portions of fruits. Fruits are rich in vitamin c which fights against free radicals in the body. The benefits of vitamin C may include protection against immune system deficiencies, cardiovascular disease, prenatal health problems, eye disease, and even skin wrinkling.



Step Three

Exercise more. Giving your body regular cardio-vascular workout not only helps you to help your brain remain youthful for longer it also helps your body stay fit and slows down the aging process. Your bones become stronger and your stamina and alertness increase.



Step Four

Take vitamin and mineral supplements. Many of us in this modern age believe that once we eat a balanced diet that guarantees healthy eating. Recent studies have shown that most of the nutrients in our food is lost throw cooking, processing, packaging, storing and cooking. To get the minimum amount of minerals and vitamins, it is best to take a good multivitamin and mineral supplement.

Step Five

Sleep. Many of us do not have enough sleep at night and if we do, we do not have a good quality sleep. Many of us suffer from broke sleep due to child care, health problems, working long hours, stress and distractions such as TVs in the bedroom and using mobile phones at bed time. People who sleep 8 hours and more say they feel younger, more relax, alert and happier. If you are happy, you look younger.



Step Six

Live a stress free life. There is stress everywhere and we cannot deny that. But many of us can avoid stress if only we knew how to. There are many way to reduce or avoid stress: do not get involved in tricky situations that you cannot manage, have a career in something you truly love, do not have blazing rows with people, try to stay healthy, learn something new each day, forgive and forget, move on, sing, pray, have a supportive family and have good friends,

ENGLAND -How many people can dip their hand in their pocket and bring out 650k? That is exactly what Prince Harry the grandson of Queen Elizabeth 11 of England offered to do. Prince Harry who is fourth in line to the English thrown visited the Maritime Inn in Brixham over the last weekend with 15 of his mates. He enjoyed his visit so much that he asked how much the pub cost and that he had the cash in his pocket. The owner, Pat Seddon told him he could buy the place for 650k!

34 year old woman posed as 15-year-old girl at high school for months without detection


A woman, whose real name is Charity Ann Johnson, has been arrested and charged more than six months after she enrolled in the high school pretending to be a 15-year-old orphan.

Charity Johnson, 34, enrolled at New Life Christian School, Longview, Texas in October 2013, telling officials she had been home-schooled. Even had a best friend who didn't know she was a matured woman in her thirties! 


She then met Tamica Lincoln, 30, and told her a sob story about how her father had abused her and that both her parents were dead and she had nowhere to go. Lincoln took her in, they went shopping and Ms Johnson acted the part of a child even though she was actually four years older!

King of the tracks - Lewis Hamilton wins the Spanish Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton is now leading the World Champion. After five races, Hamilton took the lead from Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg with a close race for the finishing line in the Spanish Grand Prix.
Hamilton is ahead of Rosberg by three points. having won four races out of five. It was during the Australian GP that Hamilton car broke down and he had to give up the race..
Hamilton took the lead from start to finish with the rest of the drivers lagging behind.

Britain to help find the 230 missing girls in Nigeria

Tuesday, the UK government has promised to help Nigeria look for 230 school girls who were abducted by militant group Boko Haram. International alarm increased as Boko Haram released a video claiming to be responsible for the kidnapping.
A host of celebrities have joined the campaign including Olympic athlete, Chris Akabusi who lives in the UK but originates from Nigeria.
On Monday the leader of a campaign group called 'Bring Back Our Girls' was arrested in Abuja.

Nigerian police authorities detained Naomi Mutah Nyadar yesterday over claims she falsely claimed to be mother of one of the missing schoolgirls.
Ms Nyadar had been at a protes meeting calling on Nigerian leaders to do more to find the 230 girls abducted by Islamist rebels, a local source said. Authorities claimed that she had been arrested for saying, Bring back our girls’ when she was not one of the mothers of the missing girls!

Who is Boko haram?
Boko Haram are Nigerian insurgents, who want to create an Islamic state in Nigeria. Three weeks ago, they stormed a secondary school in the village of Chibok in the north-east of the country and took the girls away in lorries.

Boko Haram claimed on a video on Monday that they are responsible for the abductions.  The Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau said "I abducted your girls,"in a TV news report.

Join in the campaign to kick-start the rescue the 230 Nigerian school girls who were kidnapped form their school dormitories in the middle of the night on April 17, 2014.

Maybe this will make the Nigerian government do something before it is too late for the girls. As it is m the girls are open to abuse, rape and physical abuse. On 17 April 2014, the western African country of Nigeria woke up to the news that 230 teenage girls who had stayed behind in school to prepare for their WAEC (GCSE) exams had been kidnapped by armed men overnight.

Fast forward to 1 May, the girls have not been found. Nigeria which boasts a population of over 160 million people and one of the most advanced countries in Africa cannot devise a plan to rescue these school girls.
