The exhibition will take place at Southfields Library, Wimbledon from Saturday 30 November, 2013 and for two weeks ending on Saturday 14 December, 2013. Artwork
includes oil painting, acrylics, watercolour, pastels, charcoal drawing, prints, Christmas cards and postcards. Money raised will go towards charity.
I chose the library because it is a cute busy place in the heart of Wimbledon and is often packed full of families from all over the area. You may not have heard of Southfields before but this is one of the trendiest places in southwest London. Some people say it is part of Putney but I think it is part of Wimbledon. Technically it is lodged somewhere in the middle and once used to be a quiet little village. It is venue of the famous Wimbledon Tennis Courts and the No. 1 tennis shop for exclusive tennis court wear in London, The Racket Specialist Shop is based here.
Not only is Southfields famous for its pretty village shops, here you will find world famous tennis stars like Serena and Venus Williams, Andy Murray and members of the Royal Family such as Princess, Anne, Prince William, Princess Catherine and even the Queen of England, mingling with local residents during the Championships..
People in Southfields also love to enjoy a stroll and water sports in the beautiful Wimbledon Park. And, the world famous Richmond Park is a few miles away. Here you can hire a bike and go looking for deer.
What more can I say about Southfields? The Centre Court Shopping Centre? This is the wonderful melting pot for all residents of this idyllic part of London. With unique top end shops catering for the needs of the rich and famous you will want nothing when you pop along.
Coming to Southfields is a piece of cake. Find a tube station around you and hop on a District Line Wimbledon bound train and alight at Southfields station - it is two stops before Wimbledon station. Come out of the station and turn right, cross the road towards the Natwet Bank, walk past Sainsbury's, The Racket Shop and the library is about a two minute walk.
Well, there it is! And, I look forward to seeing you at my exhibition from Saturday 30 November until Saturday 14 December, 2013. You can bring your friends, buy Christmas gifts and help raise money for charity. Thanks!
