Mommer Gaddafi ~ 10 strange things about him

Often given a 'rock star' welcome around the world Colonel Gaddafi had an eccentric and egoistic personality. He once arrived in Rome with a 300-strong retinue on three Airbuses. As ever, he brought with him a giant Bedouin tent, which was erected in a park in the centre of the city and where he was to stay and conduct business.

In 2007, he took  a camel on a visit to Paris and pitched his tent in the grounds of a five-star hotel. Many will say Gaddafi was more of a mad man than a bad one. Maybe if his mental problems had been diagnosed and treated, thousands of people could still be alive.
He was all for women's rights. Gaddafi hired an all-women team because he wanted to empower them. However, he insisted that they wore high heels, jewellery, make-up and nail polish.
Here are ten strange things about Gaddafi:
ONE: He had several 22 carat gold-plated personal hand guns. The pistol that was found on him before he died appears to be a Browning Hi Power, a 9mm handgun used by military forces around the world, including, at one time, the SAS say experts. The dictator had an arsenal of other expensive customised weapons. The question is: What kind of company manufactures gold-plated hand guns?

TWO: He had a flyswatter with a gold elephant on top, kept gilded statues of himself, used a gold-plated tea trolley, and commissioned a solid gold chaise-longue in the shape of a mermaid with his daughter Aisha’s face. A large solid gold medallion was also found in one of Aisha's houses and her Olympic size swimming is now public property.

THREE: Gaddafi owned several wigs to enhance his looks. Insiders says his wigs were 100 per cent human hair,  custom-made and imported from exclusive salons in Asia. At the hospital, after he died, Libyan officials ran a number of tests, including on hair samples for DNA to prove the identity of the dictator. Tests results shoed the the hair was not Mommar Gaddafi’s. The slain leader was wearing a wig!
FOUR: Gaddafi  lavished money on the good things in life money could buy. He owned many playboy-style resorts  with the his cronies and several complexes of opulent sea-front villas on the outskirts of Tripoli where they relaxed and had fun parties. The pools were littered with fun toys such as canoes, quad bike and jet skis.

SIX: Gaddafi had scores of luxuriou homes all over the world including  this eight-bedroom luxury property in London’s posh Hampstead Garden Suburb is up for sale. Libyan despot Colonel Gaddafi’s favourite son Saif al-Islam Gaddafi purchased the neo-Georgian home in 2009. Prior to this, tenants paid staggering rents of up to £10,000 per week. However, a “For Sale” sign has been posted outside the £10 million home by realtors Knight Frank.

SEVEN: Gaddafi employed an all female team of bodyguards called the Amazonians, fully armed and trained to kill 24/7. The women, dubbed Amazonian guards in Europe and Haris al-Has in Africa, were an army of virgins, believed to have taken a vow of chastity and pledged their lives to protect their leader. He made them wear full make-up and red lipstick ans some say he asked them for sexual favours. 40 of them were believed to be with Gaddafi when he was captured in Sifre on Thursday. Well, the goodnews is that the Amazonians won't be out of work for long because Italian prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi may be able to take the up!

EIGHT: Gaddafi may have been a tyrant but loved his children dearly and lavished money, gold, properties and luxurious gifts on them. He put most of them in key positions in his regime giving them permission to keep the public at bay with 'iron fists or with anything else such as torture, imprisonment and mass killings.' Of the eight children only Mu'tassin has been killed and the Saifs are said to be safe!                                                                    Below: Moammar Gaddafi's children: (clockwise from top left) Saif al-Islam, Saif al-Arab, Saadi, Ayesha, Hannibal, Khamis, Mu'tassim and Muhammad
NINE: Gaddafi saw himself as a fashion influencer. He was the first African head of state to appear in the UN and other various international events dressed fully in brightly designed African attires complete with head-ties. His loved of fashionable military uniforms was second to known.

The picture on Gaddafi's chest is of a Libyan resistance fighter, Omar al-Mukhtar, hanged by the Italian colonialists in 1931. Gaddafi even bought along the man's elderly son
TEN: It is rumoured that Gaddafi had plastic surgery to enhance his face and he was particularly fond of  lipstick and foundation. He often wore more make up than his pretty female body-guards!

With gelled and carefully dyed hair, the Colonel often looked like a cross between Michael Jackson and the deranged music mogul murderer Phil Spector!
