All the photos and videos are down below...:)
The Methodist Girls High School, Old Girls UK/IRELAND Lit Day in PHOTOS  #mghsoguklitday

What an awesome event! If you are reading this and you were not there yesterday, erm well you missed a lot! I will start from the beginning...

I left home, that is south London, around 2pm and arrived in Harrow an hour later...traffic was light so that was a plus. Before I went in, I took a quick a 'before and after' photo for my records. The venue, a large hall was decorated with a red and white theme and the place was buzzing by the time I arrived.

After all the usually registrations and greetings - there were so many old faces and of course new ones, I stepped into the hall. The first thing I noticed was that there were 23 tables. I thought, 'WOW how are we going to fill them all up' because each table had 8 seats.

At 5pm the event started with a short prayer followed by the debating session and by 6pm, the hall was packed full. Over 200 people attended the event and ninety percent of the guests came dressed in school uniforms others were dressed in the theme colours of white or red. I could recognise old students from Maryland College, Igbobi College, Lagos Anglican Girls Grammar School (LAGGS), Reagan Memorial, Answarudeen College, Government College Lagos, Methodist Boys High School, CMS Grammar School and a few others.

But, the old girls from Methodist Girls High School outshone everyone else with their stylish uniforms, some even had socks on! It was such a wonderful and fun experience - bringing back beautiful memories. But hang on....what else would you expect form the old girls of a school whose motto is: Must Gain Higher Standard? Nothing but the BEST!

Old girls such as Bolanle Subair represented MGHS OGA in the debate; Olugbo Sanyaolu led the fashion parade while Bose Koku and Tola Ajasin entertained the cheering crowd with a lip sync.

What made this event extra special was the hardworking executive and project team behind the whole event - they had to coordinate ticket sales, find and book the hall and DJ, find and negotiate with the hall decorator, and invite businesses to hire stalls. Thumbs up to Tola Ajasin for coordinating up to 25 young people aged between 11 and 27 who handled the general hospitality at the event. WELL DONE!

The food was out of this world, there was the usual fried rice, jollof rice, moi moi and yam pottage but I went for amala, ewedu and gbegiri!!!! Hurray! That was sooooooo delicious mwah! The most interesting thing was that the food raves from guests were high and guess what? Most of the food was prepared in the building by three old girls...Snr Bisi Fashinro, Ayoku and Yetunde Naiwo. You are AMAZING!

The best part was the DJ - Teekay Baba...who played tunes that I had not heard in a long time...you know those tunes that you enjoyed at parties when you were 15 /16 but seem to have faded away? Well, this DJ brought them all back and kept us dancing for 3 hours and more non-stop!

At this point, I must congratulate the President of MGHSOGA UK, Bukky Durojaiye Byass and her team for this extraordinary first time event which was a huge success. YOU ARE TRUE PATHFINDERS with high standards and I am truly proud to be a product of this truly amazing school with an amazing legacy of nurturing the best.

There was still another part of this event that was better than the best, that was the fashion parade and the dancing competition - these were simply awesome! You need to watch the videos to truly appreciate these. I have also gathered that some people were not in the hall to see all these exciting stuff because they were serving or went out for fresh air... well here all the photos and some videos. Enjoy!
