the beauty of Nigeria will retell the story of the war which erupted in the 1960s just after Nigeria's independence.
The film is based on Nigerian writer and Orange prize winner Chiamada Adezie's novel Half a Yellow Moon. The screenplay of the book was written by Nigerian novelist and playwright, Biyi Bamidele. The film will be released in cinemas worldwide this summer.
Ejiofor says that the book was first suggested to him by his mum who experienced the war. He said that the Biafran War is part of his childhood and many of his relatives went through the brutality of the war. He said his mother and the rest of his family including his grandfather are all really excited and thrilled that filming is happening right there in Enugu in Nigeria.
