Patience Jonathan flown to Germany for food poisoning treatment

EMERGENCY: First Lady of the Federal Rebuplic, Patience Jonathan

ABUJA,NIGERIA - The wife of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Patience Jonathan has been flown to Germany for emergency treatment according to online news agency, Sahara Reporters.

The agency reported that Patience has been undergoing treatment in a German hospital for the last four days. There have been no further comments from the President's office.

Patience Faka Jonathan, 55, was born in Port Harcourt. She was recognised and awarded "The African Goodwill Ambassador Award in Los Angeles, USA for her philanthropic work in the global fight against HIV/AIDS in 2008. She has also received several awards for her work involving women’s' employment rights. She was made a permanent secretary in Bayelsa state, Nigeria on July 12, 2012.
