ABUJA - Nigeria named Nuhu Ribadu, a former anti-corruption chief, as head of a special oil-revenue task force set up to “enhance probity and accountability” in Africa’s top crude producer according to a statement made by Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison- Madueke . In an email from Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, the Minister said the “task force will determine and verify all petroleum upstream and downstream revenue due and payable to the government and take steps to recover debts.
Here are two famous quotes that Mr Ribadu made in March 2011 during his presidential campaign.
"I will never allow any tainted thing to come into my campaign.”
"I want to see money from ordinary Nigerians coming in. I want little, little contributions."
His childhood friends and classmates recall a quiet, studious boy, with a hidden well-spring of passion, who surprised others with his sense of justice.
Hmmm….Let’s hope his puts his sense of justice into practice.
