Yemisi Jenkins MBE to speak at the Enrich Africa Women & Youth Breakfast Event in London
It is with great pride and delight that we announce that the keynote speaker at the Enrich Africa Community Event will be Yemisi Jenkins MBE. This year's theme is 'Dare to Win.' We will be focusing on effective parenting and managing successful families in the UK. There will be lots of entertainment, food and drinks.

Yemisi Jenkins MBE celebrated at Nigerian Women In Diaspora Leadership Forum gathering

It was
quite a special occasion as dignitaries from the Nigerian political,
professional and business circle gathered to celebrate a phenomenal woman -
Yemisi Jenkins MBE at an exclusive dinner event on Sunday.
The celebration organised by the Nigerian Women in Diaspora Leadership Forum (NWIDLF) took place at
the The Holiday Inn, Regents Park in London and attracted well over 150 elegantly
dressed guests including the Deputy Nigerian High Commissioner Mr Simon Ogah, the former Mayor of Enfield, Nigerian-born Councillor Kate Anolue, Sam and Tola
Onibanjo from the Woman 4 Africa organisation and many others were present to honour
the award winner.
The event was also organised to
raise money for 'Ajekunle Girls', a charity founded by member of the
Nigerian House of Rep, Hon Rita Orji to support young girls who have been lured into
prostitution in this run down area of Lagos. Orji flew all the way from Nigeria
to talk passionately about how the girls in Ajeromi Local Government were
suffering. A handsome amount of money was raised from an American style
auction.
Yemisi Jenkins MBE a Brief
Background:
The journey started over 40 years ago
and in between Yemisi attended the prestigious Lagos Anglican Girls Grammar
School in Suru-Lere, Lagos, Nigeria until 1985. She went on to study at the
University of Jos in Nigeria and later traveled to the UK where she lives presently.
Yemisi achievements include being a hardworking wife and she is mum to two handsome
boys. Yemisi is also the is the president of Association of
British-Nigerian Law Enforcement officers (ABLE). This organisation is
responsible for raising awareness within the Nigerian community and creating a
platform for engagement between the Nigerian community in the UK and various law
enforcement agencies.
But the greatest achievement
this year so far was when Yemisi Jenkins attended an investiture at the
Buckingham Palace on 24 February 2016 to receive her MBE insignia. Kneeling proudly, Yemisi watched as Prince Charles pinned her award to the top of her fantastic
fuschia aso oke.
Recalling how this happened, Yemisi
said when she received the call for Her Majesty's office that she had made the
2016 honours list and was to be awarded an MBE by the Queen, she thought it was a
dream. Well done Yemisi Jenkins MBE! I wish you many more!
