Much loved Nigerian actor "Villiage Headmaster" Jutus Esiri dies

Popular Nigerian actor Justus Esiri, 71 is dead. The actor's son, pop singer Dr Sid confirmed his passing by putting up a photo of Justus Esiri on his twitter account and adding 'RIP Dad'. Family members have released a statement that the actor died of diabetes.

Esiri was a member of the Order of Niger (MON). He shot to lime light in the 70s with his most popular role to date 'Headmaster' in the nationwide series 'Village Headmaster' which aired on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). He has also featured in many  Nollywood movies. He attended Prof. Weners Institute of Engineering, West Berlin, 1967 and the Ahrens School of Performing Arts in 1968. Justus Esiri, ventured into motion picture production in 1968 as a staff of the Schiller Theater, Berlin, Germany, where he stayed till 1976. During the 1977 FESTAC held in Lagos, he choreographed the Modern Dress exhibition.

Jutus Esiri left behind his wife, Omiete and six children.
